Do you host giveaways or contests at your chamber? Are you looking for the type of items that will get your audience excited? Then stop using the same old, same old giveaways.

The following items are unique, yet not that hard to get. They may just be a phone call away from a member donation.

15 Unique Chamber Giveaway Items for Contests and Raffles

  1. Chamber Bucks. Local currency is a great giveaway because it works in two ways. It is a giveaway that can be spent at many different locations in your town, providing a lot of flexibility, and it benefits the participating businesses. If you giveaway Chamber Bucks you needn’t take a loss. You can ask for sponsors to cover the cost.
  2. Professional headshots. Sometimes it’s difficult to rationalize spending money on professional headshots but they make a big difference in marketing. A gift certificate for professional headshots is much appreciated.
  3. Actions. This one is popular among YouTubers and it doesn’t cost anything but your time and maybe your ego. Challenge your audience to do something (like get you to 1,000 likes) and then as a reward you will do something (like walk around town in a penguin costume). You can also hold a contest and the winner gets their branding in a pre-specified, highly visible location (like on the chamber window).
  4. Money. Always a desired giveaway but check with legal counsel to see how members can donate and how you will award it.
  5. Dinner for Two. Think outside of the restaurants and put together a package that fits a theme like romance or sports.
  6. Gift certificates for flowers or a flower of the month club.
  7. Spa or beauty service gift certificates.
  8. Freelance services gift certificates for things like organization, marketing consulting, design work/web design, etc.
  9. Book bags. A bag full of books, bath bombs, wine, and a cozy robe.
  10. Bed & Breakfast gift certificate.
  11. Movie or theater tickets.
  12. Barbecue grill and all the tools (Come on summer.)
  13. Gym membership or personal training gift cards. Many times members are willing to donate these things because they hope to make permanent clients out of the winners.
  14. Luxury car rental for the day (or weekend).
  15. “Learn to” gift cards. If there’s a business in your town that offers classes (such as knitting or other fun activity), see if they’ll donate a class or two. This may be a nice opportunity for them to upsell or earn the purchase of continued services in the future.

While we’re never suggesting you look the proverbial gift horse in the mouth when they’re giving you boring giveaways, when you offer unique winnings you may sell more raffle tickets or have more interest in your chamber contests. These ideas are just the beginning.
