The new year is a natural start to begin something you’ve been putting off. Here are a few things you should think about doing for your business.
Clean Your Data
Do you have a newsletter or contact list? It’s time to go through it and clean it up. Delete duplicates. Get rid of bad addresses and emails. A large list doesn’t do you any good if you can’t get through to them. Plus, bad email addresses can affect your send rating. You want a good, engaged list. Start the new year with a little list cleaning and it will make your efforts much more efficient.
Join Your Local Chamber
There has never been a better time to join your local chamber. Chambers advocate for local businesses on all levels of government. This has been even more essential in 2020 when the government has been putting together things like the PPP and closures. Hearing the voice of business is crucial in those decisions. Chambers also offer a lot of free educational opportunities and can introduce you to people critical to your business or profession.
Get More Exposure for Your Business
Marketing and exposure are critical to reaching your customers. But there’s a lot of noise online. You need to find those “roads less traveled” so that you can be a louder voice among others and begin to connect. Look for unique marketing opportunities such as local business directories or local currency programs. These platforms, in addition to content and social media marketing, can put you in front of a new audience.
2020 has been a challenge but you can also choose to look at it as a very difficult boot camp that will make us all stronger once we complete it.
Happy New Year!
