We all want more customers, right? Who doesn’t want additional revenue, especially with costs increasing?

Your local chamber is in a good position to help you get more exposure–and thus, more sales–you just have to ask.

Ways the Chamber Can Help You Grow and Increase Sales

  • Attend events. Get to know people in the community you may not otherwise run into. These folks could turn out to be new friends, referrals for business, customers, vendors, investors, freelancers/contractors, employees, and/or partners.
  • Participate in the local currency program. Becoming a participating merchant/business means additional exposure and possibly discovering a new audience.
  • Learn something new. Most chambers have educational programs or webinars. You can learn a lot when you participate. You will also likely meet new people.
  • Check out the member-to-member discounts. Check to see if your chamber offers a member-to-member discount program where chamber members can give (and get!) discounts on one another’s goods and services. Not only can this save you money, you may get new customers out of your participation as well.
  • Ask abut referrals. You may be surprised to know that a lot of people contact the chamber when they are planning on visiting an area. They often ask them for referrals. Find out your chamber’s protocol on referrals and leaving brochures in their lobby.
  • Participate in their directory or magazine. The chamber business directory is often one of the preeminent business listings in the area. Find out what kind of listing you get with membership and what upgrades are possible. Some chambers also have a relocation guide or magazine that may offer additional exposure opportunities.
  • Become a sponsor. Becoming a chamber sponsor/investor or sponsoring an event can provide additional exposure for your business. Review their events and the event audience to understand what the best fit for your business would be.
