Give yourself a treat with scrips fundraising in your community

Popcorn, cookies, magazines, gift wrap, and candy bars. While all of those things have their use, school and organization fundraisers seem like the same old same old. The kids go door-to-door or you post your order form on Facebook and you hope that people buy from them even though they can get a better deal elsewhere.

Sometimes it’s a trick and sometimes it’s a treat. But most of us purchase these things out of obligation not out of need. Wouldn’t it be great to have a fundraiser that was useful and economical?

It’s time to liven up fundraising and make it an event that benefits the entire community.

Scrip Fundraising and Local Currency

Schools and organizations can now raise funds by selling local gift certificates for local businesses. These gift checks can be used at a number of businesses around town. Depending on participation you might be able to get your oil changed or a day of beauty. There’s something for everyone in local currency.

Local businesses give a lot to the schools. They often sponsor little leagues and other sports. This idea helps your school or non-profit organization give back to those who have helped you.  There’s a broader appeal with a program like this than say, candy bars. The local currency is easier to sell because it:

  • makes a great gift
  • fits everyone’s personality and preferences
  • appeals to a broader cause than just the school (it helps the entire town by helping the business community)
  • is easy to store and lift (no boxes or product or exhausting sorting)
  • doesn’t require pre-orders or guessing how many you’ll sell (schools always have leftover swag that doesn’t sell out or they order too little and miss out on filling demand)
  • is useful

Are you looking for a new fundraiser but don’t want to get tricked? Then it’s time for a treat with Scrip Fundraising and local currency.
