The Town of Johnstown received a one time booster of over $100,00 intended to support their local merchants. In March, 2021, the town board mailed each household in the area a $20 gift certificate. The certificates are due to expire 12/31/21, thus encouraging certificate holders to use in their community rapidly. Setting a time frame limit on the certificates will encourage people to get back out into the community and in turn boost the recovery of their local merchants. Restaurants, beauty salons, hardware stores, coffee shops, health and wellness centers, grocery stores and more are all included in their program.
