Chambers and business associations have shared so many fun ideas with us on how they’re using their chamber bucks or gift certificates as awards within their community. These prizes are enticing people to shop local and they’re all so fun we just had to share them. We hope you enjoy them as much as we have.
For those of you mentioned in this post, keep up the great work. If you didn’t make it in, share your activity in the comments below so we can share it in a future blog or social media post.
Fun Summer Shop Local Campaign Ideas
Open Air Market
Summer is the perfect time to visit your local farmer’s market. The Cambridge Chamber of Commerce is encouraging folks to do just that by adding an arts and crafts fair hosted by the Girl Scouts. The chamber is also inviting people to pick up a shop local card and bring it to the chamber each week to be eligible for their chamber bucks drawing.
Burger Contest
The Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce wanted to serve up their own special burger at this year’s Demolition Derby so they placed a call to area businesses to share their favorite burger recipe. Five businesses took on the challenge and prepared and cooked their masterpieces in front of the judges. The winner can claim the official title of chamber burger and chamber bucks as well.
Get Fishin’
The Pratt Area Chamber of Commerce wanted to entice people to their local lake and so created a contest to do just that. “Fishin’ for Bucks” invites locals and visitors to fish for tagged fish worth a total of $2,000 in chamber bucks. The winning fishermen are told to remove the tag and bring it (not the fish) down to the chamber to receive their prizes. The contest goes on for the next month.
Are you using chamber bucks as rewards? If so, tell us how in the comments below. We’d love to hear about it.
