Ah, the elevator pitch. That pithy promo that every chamber representative should have at the ready should they be unexpectedly confronted with a new prospect.
It sounds easy enough. Condense your unique value proposition into 2-3 minutes, add a nod to features and benefits and wrap it up in a compelling, results-based story. Ready? Go!
The Liverpool Chamber of Commerce last year invited its members to learn how to craft and execute a solid elevator pitch. Several members, from luxury hoteliers to small business owners, took the challenge. Here’s one such execution.

While undoubtedly challenging to write, there is no denying the power of a thoughtful, thorough and well-practiced elevator pitch. Outside of the aforementioned elevator, the pitch will get lots of exercise at networking events, parties and otherwise awkward moments spent sitting elbow to elbow with strangers on a plane.
